For almost exactly one year, 70 SMD stencils per day have left Weitefeld. Stencils that find their application in the manufacture of products that everyone uses every day. Because they are necessary for the assembly of printed circuit boards. Small, electronic cards that can be found in almost all technical devices - smartphones, PCs and televisions. At the beginning of July 2017, BECKTRONIC GmbH, the specialist for SMD stencils, moves into its new company and production location in Weitefeld's Bahnhofstraße. At the end of June, local mayor Karl-Heinz Keßler and municipality mayor Wolfgang Schneider congratulated managing directors Thomas Schulte-Brinker and Hubertus Knaier as well as sales manager Jan Marloth on their first location-anniversary.
Components for the global electronics industry come from Weitefeld
BECKTRONIC GmbH specializes in the production of laser-cut SMD stencils made of stainless steel and nickel materials. A niche product which is offered by only about 15 competitors based in Germany. The company from Weitefeld proudly positions itself in third place and offers not only high product quality but also comprehensive advice. Every year, an impressive 20,000 individual SMD stencils are produced. "This is due to the constant new developments in the electrical market. New technologies, optimized layouts and an improved design are constantly replacing their predecessors. These innovations are the future branch for BECKTRONIC. We live from and with progress," describes Thomas Schulte-Brinker, Managing Director of BECKTRONIC GmbH.
Industry 4.0 in the Westerwald Forest
Faster, more flexible and more efficient - more and more regional companies are meeting the requirements of industry 4.0. Municipality Mayor Wolfgang Schneider explains, "Industry 4.0 is on the agenda of all companies in the municipality, but not to the same extent as at BECKTRONIC". Schneider is amazed by the strong growth of BECKTRONIC GmbH. In recent years the company has also expanded in terms of personnel and space with the move to Weitefeld. In addition new lasers enrich the machine park and work faster and more energy-efficiently. For us, "Industry 4.0 means bringing together digitalization and automation with the aim of simplifying and simultaneously accelerating internal processes. This is how BECKTRONIC works right from the start. We are already asking ourselves what the next step will be," explains Managing Director Thomas Schulte-Brinker. Basically, many small steps led to the point where the company is now. This is never about the blind automation of process sequences, but rather about the conception of further meaningful optimization possibilities.
Joined forces for Weitefeld
The local community of Weitefeld is undergoing a continuous modernisation process. "Many local companies appreciate the location and the close cooperation with us. We are pleased to welcome BECKTRONIC GmbH as such a future-oriented company," explains Karl-Heinz Keßler, mayor of Weitefeld. Since the move, all parties involved have been in active exchange. "According to Hubertus Knaier, Managing Director of BECKTRONIC GmbH, it is especially the energetic support in the choice of location and the active dialogue on the subject of "fast Internet" that are positively driving our further development. With the spatial and personnel expansion the award for the IHK training company follows. From August 2018, Ms. Christine Reske will take over the training of new "industrial clerk" specialists in the company.
